Mexico

Patrick and I just got back from a week long trip to Cancun, Mexico. It was wonderful! We left Lydia with Patrick's parents for the first half of our trip and then she stayed with my parents for the remainder of our time. It was definitely hard being away from her but well worth it. She was in good hands and I know all the grandparents had a blast getting to spend so much time with her. Patrick and I enjoyed spending some alone time together as well :)

We stayed at an all inclusive resort. This was our first time staying at one of these and we liked it. It was nice not to have to worry about food. We could pretty much eat whenever we wanted and we didn't have to go off the resort. We spent a lot of time reading at the pool. He read 4-6 books (I lost count) and I read 1 1/2. Half way through the trip we went on an excursion to Mayan ruins. We met a couple on their honeymoon and had fun getting to know them. A few afternoons we broke up our reading time by playing some beach volleyball. We also went out on the ocean in a kayak. We were hoping to take out a catamaran but it ended up raining the last two days so we couldn't.

It was such a blessing to be able to go on this trip and relax and enjoy one another.
