Baby Claire

Over the weekend Patrick and I went home for my niece's birthday party. Audrey and Patrick have the same birthday. She turned 4 and he turned 25. While at home, I took a few pictures of my other niece Claire. She's almost 5 months old.

Grasshoppers

Ever stared at a grasshopper for 5 minutes?

I HAVE.

I'm working the drive thru today and had a little friend stop by. A bright green grasshopper.

I wish I had my camera, he was so cute.

He cleaned all of his limbs and then grabbed a hold of his antennas and licked those clean too.

Creatures and their instinctive habbits are amazing.

Clearly there is an awesome creator- GOD.

Thanks Mr. Grasshopper for stopping by. You provided some needed entertainment.

Happy Birthday Patrick!

Patrick turns 25 today. He doesn't like to make a big deal out of birthdays so we're playing it pretty low key. But I wanted to journal a few (25) of the things I love about him...

1. He loves the Lord.

2. He has the best smile/laugh ever!

3. He says WHATEVER he thinks.

4. He's silly with kids.

5. He's quick to forgive.

6. He's quick to ask forgiveness.

7. He can't sing worth a lick...and lets me laugh at him b/c of it.

8. He'll dance with me when I ask.

9. He smells so good!

10. He's a hard worker
11. He's self motivated in just about everything.

12. He's not afraid to stand up for truth.

13. He points me to Jesus.

14. He loves his family.

15. He's so smart.

16. He loves me even though he knows so much about me.

17. He likes to live simply.

18. He does things for me just because he knows it means a lot.

19. He'd go EVERYWHERE in gym shorts and a t-shirt, if I'd let him:).

20. He's a good friend.

21. He's a thinker and has taught me to think more analytically.

22. He's patient with me when I interupt 20x while he's trying to do homework

23. He's good with having his priorities in order...and helps me see when mine are off.

24. He takes care of me and loves me extremely well!

25. HE'S TWENTY FIVE YEARS OLD TODAY!!!!

Go here to wish him a happy birthday!

More on the kirbster

Kirby has been great so far! We've had him now for 4 days and he's only peed in the house twice. After that, its all been outside. This makes me SO HAPPY! for a couple of reasons. 1. I don't like cleaning up poop or pee and 2. I don't particularly enjoy spanking him or watching him get spanked when he pees or poops in the house.

We took to Cherokee park yesterday for the first time. I think he liked it. We went down to a creek that runs through the park and let him test the waters. It was funny watching him be so timid and afraid of the water. He made it across though.

I gave him a bath when we got home and put on some new flea and tick medicine.
HE's a clean pppy.

Introducing Kirby!!

My sister had some puppies show up on her property Friday and just happened to call and ask if we wanted one. WE DID! We drove down last night and picked up our first puppy.
Here are a few of his stats:
His name is Kirby.
He's a yellow lab.
He's six weeks old.
He sleeps A LOT!
WE love him!
Another plus of getting him, was that we had to drive down to Bowling Green to pick him up. That means we got to see my sister! WE also got to visit with Matt, Bekah's husband and see Patrick's brother John. It was a good night. Check out Bekah's "ready-to-pop-ness"

First couple of sessions

Patrick and I have had two official photo sessions. I thought I'd show you some of our work....and a couple of really cute kiddos.

House Wedding

I'm half way through editing the pictures I took this weekend. Here are a few of my favorite so far.

Little Disappointed

Man, it's so frustrating when you really want something to turn out GREAT and it only turns out ok. Patrick and I have started taking pictures on the side. Saturday my friend got married and to help her out, I volunteered to take her wedding pictures for free. That was SCARY! I made some mistakes that honestly, I should have known better and simply not done... Now I'll try and fix them with a handy dandy editing machine.

Next time I'll know.

On Our Outing to Oregon...

WE went lots of places, saw new faces and had a TON of FUN

We also:

stuffed our tummies, climbed high mountains, sailed the blue waters, broke rules, climbed on roofs, chased elk, loudly sang solos, competed in ping pong tournament, read books, met family for the first time, saw beautiful gardens, raced down sand dunes, ate large large burgers and delicious shakes at Fat Freddy's, ate Thai Toms, hung out with old friends, went to Pike's Place Market, and said goodbye to the west coast and headed home.
