Throwback Wednesday

I like to flip through mine and Patrick's pictures everyonce in a while. Yesterday I came across these and it made me smile. This was fall of 2007 down in Bowling Green. We went to a local orchard and enjoyed the nice fall weather. I think it made me so happy because it's sunny in the pictures and yesterday was cold, rainy and not sunny. So heres to sunshine and warmer days!

Tomorrow is Red Envelope Day

A project has been started to get as many people as possible to mail an empty red envelope to the White House, addressed to President Obama, on March 31st.

The red envelopes represent the innocent blood shed through abortion. Here's some of the details:

• Address the envelope: President Obama, The White House, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington D.C. 20500


• Make sure to include your return address.


• Write on back of envelope: This envelope represents one child who died in abortion. It is empty becasue that life was unable to offer anything to the world. Responsibility begins with conception.

Birthdays

This past weekend. Patrick and I celebrated a couple birthdays. On Friday we got dressed up and went out with some friends for Lang's 24th birthday party. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LANG! Lang is one of Patrick's best friends. I'm thankful that the Lord has given Patrick great friends like Lang who be will lifelong friends (we hope!). Here are some pictures from our evening:

Then on Saturday I headed down to my hometown for my nephew's 2nd birdthday party. Myles has grown up so fast in the last couple months. He's gone from barely saying one word to now saying full sentences in only a few months. HAPPY BIRHTDAY MYLES!

Myles got mad at all of us for singing "happy birthday". He put on his mad face and growled "stop singing!"

Puppy

Patrick and I were at our local park the other day and saw the cutest dog ever! I'm not the biggest fan of getting a dog, but when I saw this dog, I really wanted one. SO we aksed the owner what the breed was and to our surprise it was a golden retreiver/cocker spaniel mix. After doing research... I now know that these are called Comfort Retreivers. They're too cute and are supposedly really well tempered. Someday maybe we'll get one!!

Prayer

Please be praying for baby Stellan. His mom, Jennifer aka MckMama, has a great blog that I often go to. Stellan is in the hospitable with a sick heart. His heart beat has been dangerously high for the past few days. Pray that the Lord would ultimately heal him but also that his family would continue to trust in the Lord and his sovereignty. The last couple posts have been updating on his situation and have also been encouarging with thoughts on prayer and the fact that none of this is taking the Lord by shock, he is in control. Please pray for Stellan

Also, please pray for the family of Troya Sheckles. She was shot and killed last night at a nearby park. This park is a block or two away from mine and Patrick's church. Our pastors are calling us for a prayer walk tonight around the park and then our usual Wednesday meeting will also be dedicated to prayer for our community and her family.

In an email concerning this incident our pastor, Ryan Fullerton, encouraged us to not be afraid in this situation. Here is an excerpt:

Finally brothers and sisters, let's ask God to help us respond to this in faith and not in fear. The problems we are seeing in the neighborhood are the kind the gospel can confront, comfort, and overcome. The gospel alone can change a murderers heart, comfort a mourning families grief, and save those who are now asking important questions like 'why?' I know many of us will struggle with fear but, pray that by God's grace none of us would see this as a season to retreat but we would see this as a call to urgently and fearlessly advance the cause of the gospel on the streets of this city we call home.

I found myself easily overwhelmed with fear when I heard about this. My heart has been humbled and reminded that I am no one special. My heart is just as wicked and evil as the person who shot that gun. I have that wickedness in my heart. And it is only by the grace of God that I'm not acting on the wickedness. I pray that the Lord would continue to remind me of that and of his goodness to me. I also pray that my heart would leap at this opportunity to reach out to our community and share the message of Christ.

Refinishing Chairs Chair

A while back I got the idea to recover our chairs. Patrick and his mom found them at some thrift store here in town. They work fine but just dont look the best. So when in hobby lobby one day, I decided it wouldn't be too hard to do a little recovering project. I bought some fabric, foam pads, cording and pins and went home all excited and motivated to get to work.


I was so excited that I went ahead and took off the old fabric on two of the chairs. Well I got bored after ripping off the fabric and took a break. A two week break. Then on a day off I decided to bite the bullet and get these chairs done. One thing...I don't have a sewing machine. So I hand sewed the seat and tried to hold, stretch and hammer down this fabric with my two hands wishing I had three extra. 4 sermons and 3 hours later, I was finished with my first chair.



It has now been two months and I haven't touched the other three. So I have two looking like this

I've concluded I need to invest in a sewing machine, get a day off and ask a friend to hep.

Go Girl

Have you ever been out and about in the woods hiking or something when all the sudden it hits you. You have to pee. Really bad. I know this has happened to me many times. While skiing or four-wheeling or even just on the road and they isn't a clean bathroom for miles. Well now our problems are solved!
