Nice to meet you Sam

Patrick and I took Kirby out to the park today to enjoy this weather. For dinner we went out on a date to Molly Malone's and had dinner out on the deck. Afterward we went and met Sam for the first time. We were so excited to meet him and see Ashley. We can't wait to spend all weekend with them soon.

way to go Patrick way to go *clap*clap*

I feel like bragging on Patrick a little. He has had a really tough week of school, but has come through like a champ.

First he had a mid term in Advanced Greek Grammar (sounds awful huh?) This class is so hard that the teacher curves the grades so that 85-100 is an A. It's probably one of the toughest classes at seminary. Anyway Patrick studied hard and did really well. That was Tuesday. Wednesday he spoke at a local high school's chapel.
After chapel he got to work studying for his Dad's New Testament Theology mid term. He took it today and got a 94!!!! Way to go Patrick!!!

Thats not all, he got an email today saying he had been awarded a biblical studies award from Southern. He was nominated and voted on by professors in the school of theology. He won some money for it and will be recognized in chapel.

Patrick is super dedicated to his studies and it has really paid off this week.

Everybody now... Way to go Patrick! Way to GO *clap*clap*

Fuel

"A car is made to run on gasoline, and it would not run properly on anything else. Now God designed the human machine to run on Himself. He Himself is the fuel our spirits were designed to burn, or the food our spirits were designed to feed on. There is no other. That is why it is just no good asking God to make us happy in our own way. God cannot give us happiness and peace apart from Himself, because it is not there. There is no such thing." C.S. Lewis

Ladies and Gentlefolk

I have made a dress. It's not completely my size but with a little awkward maneuvering, I can get it over my head. I think I'll put a zipper in to make it easier. I also have to make longer straps... the ones currently on it don't connect. And I'm going to do something different with the top. But overall, I'm really happy with the way it looks. What do you think?

Making a dress... We'll see how it turns out

I'm kinda improvising on a pattern... Simply using a dress that I already own. I think the top is going to look funny on. I'm probably going to have to take it off and redo it. Thanks Tara T for all the fabric:) Your scraps are my treasures.

Today is the day that Patrick and I become debt free (except for our mortgage)!!! WHOOHOOO!
Praise the LORD! He has been very kind in providing for us to pay off my school loans in 1year instead of 7.

First Picnic of 2010

I got a call from Patrick while at work today. He said he was going crazy inside and just had to get out. SO he suggested cooking out at Cherokee. I called some friends and they were up for it. I went by our old apartment to pick up our little grill. Yes we moved out almost 3 months ago and still haven't moved everything from the old apartment... we still have bikes and a few other goodies in the basement. Any way it was a good night with friends. It was also a good night to learn that you shouldn't assume that all charcoal starts with just a match. Some need lighter fluid. Thanks girl in the park for letting us borrow your lighter fluid. Thanks Brian and Jenny for being part of the first picnic of 2010.
Thanks Lord for such beautiful Spring days.

ICE LAND

Now that its 60 degrees outside. Patrick and I decide to go ice skating:)

Saturday we headed to a local ice skating rink with good friends Alex and Clint. Here are some pics to remember our time. (For the record there were only two falls. One for Clint and one for me. Ice hurts.)

Notice any one falling in this picture??? It's not me!
Patrick and Clint raced... Patrick won
Patrick and I raced... Patrick won. Please notice Patrick's technique in this picture. He watched way to much of the Olympics. He's getting a little too Apollo Ono with the one leg out ahead at the finish line.

Good Visit

Friday Patrick and I had the opportunity to go visit my sister and bro-in-law down near Bowling Green. I think I have come to realize that times when are whole family is together are fun and good but also hard to have real quality one on one time. That's why trips like the one last weekend are important. I was able to just hang out with my sister and I love that. Here are some pictures of her big boy!Funny how there aren't any pictures of me and my sister.... babies take over lives!

More things I didn't do

This afternoon I didn't greet someone by saying " 'morning ".

I then didn't walk into the bathroom and smash my finger in the bathroom stall, almost say a bad word and realize that some one I knew was in the other stall. By the way... I work at a Seminary. (And my finger still hurts!)

Last night I didn't go down in the dungeon to do laundry and find that I still had clothes in the dryer from last week.

"I'm sorry, I forgot" is not the most common thing I have been hearing myself say lately.
